We have been exploring flavours to create the perfect bite.  
Here we combine umami, salty, and sour.

Sometimes you don’t mess with perfection!  Our Huntley & Palmers Original Somerset Crackers are the perfect base for this traditional flavour combination.

The umami of rare beef, layered with the saltiness of cheddar cheese, then adding the sour of mustard and gherkins.  It’s a classic match.

 

To make the rare beef

- Beautiful eye fillet steak takes centre stage here. Ensure your meat is room temperature before cooking.

- Preheat grill to high to ensure you get a great sear on your steak.

- Lightly season with salt and pepper, add a little high heat oil to the pan, and cook fillet for approximately 4 minutes per side (depending on thickness). Turn once only.

- Once cooked, remove from the heat and allow to rest. Serve warm or cold.
